Top of the Charts is a five-image series, representing every song that charted on the UK’s New Music Express from the 1st January 1960, until the 31st December 2009. By sourcing the album or single cover on which each charting song was released, Tracey was able to run each through a program that assesses the image. From this, she sampled the dominant saturated colour, allowing her to digitally “paint” her works. The length of each block is dictated by the number of days its respective song was charting and, as such, Top of the Charts aims to provide data and information with its own visual, non-linguistic language.
Top of the Charts is an award-winning series, with Amelia receiving the Artereal Gallery Mentorship Award in 2014.

Hi Ben,
They certainly are. They are facemounted pigment prints on resin-coated film, each 82cm x 82cm.
If you have any questions feel free to email me at a.tracey91@hotmail.com
